content marketing blogsInterested in content marketing? Then you better start following several content marketing blogs to soak in as much knowledge as possible.

After all, this isn’t just good for your career but for your health. According to Yale researchers who studied 3,635 people older than 50, those who read books for 30 minutes daily live an average of 23 months longer than non-readers or magazine readers.

At the end of the day, however, I’m not here to tell you to read. If you’re here now, reading this, then that means you’re already on the right track.

Anyway, without further ado, here are some of my favorite content marketing blogs:

Content Marketing Institute (CMI)

If you’re looking to learn everything you can about content marketing, starting with the basics, you can’t go wrong with Content Marketing Institute. Their mission is “to advance the practice of content marketing,” and from where I’m standing, they’ve done a marvelous job.

Their site is full of practical, how-to guidance, including insight and advice from the experts as well as an active community for discussing the latest news, information and trends in the industry. So, be sure to check them out.

Hubspot

Hubspot is not just an inbound marketing platform, it’s a great source of tips on everything that has to do with marketing, including content marketing. Thanks to their intimate connection to the industry via their platform, which provides them with lots of data, they are able to conduct in-depth research on a variety of marketing-related topics, such as this one – Content Trends: Global Preferences.

So, be sure to give Hubspot a look.

Neil Patel

Neil Patel used to run a blog for KISSmetrics until he purchased it and absorbed it into his own blog, as detailed here.

When it comes to content marketing, Neil Patel has become somewhat of a rock star – due to his immense visibility and popularity among us, content geeks. He’s certainly been very influential in my career.

Patel is the co-founder of Neil Patel Digital. The Wall Street Journal, Forbes and Entrepreneur Magazine have all praised him for his influence on the web and his business acumen. He is also a New York Times bestselling author and was recognized as a top 100 entrepreneur under the age of 30 by President Obama and a top 100 entrepreneur under the age of 35 by the United Nations.

So, if you haven’t checked out his content yet, be sure to do so ASAP.

Buffer

This is another blog that I have to thank for helping me along in my career. Like Hubspot, Buffer is also a platform, though it’s focused on social media management.

So, as you can imagine, they have quite a few content marketing tips. What I love about them is that their blog posts are both lengthy and meaty, with plenty of statistics and practical information. Just like Hubspot, they do a lot of studies, as you can see in this article on the state of social media in 2019.

When you have a free minute or two, check them out.

IZEA

If you don’t have time for lengthy content, IZEA is a great alternative, offering plenty of useful tips and tricks in the realm of marketing. They’re not the best on this list, but if you’re only dipping your toes into content marketing, you can’t go wrong with these guys. Plus, at the time of writing, the design of their website is so slick, it makes sick (in a good way). Yum! Take a look.
